A new Northern Jutland partnership will shorten the path to exciting innovation partnerships for the region’s energy companies. At the same time, it should be even easier to engage with knowledge institutions.
This is the purpose and background to the new cooperation that the Danish cluster organization for the energy sector, Energy Cluster Denmark, has now entered with Erhvervshus Nordjylland.
“Northern Jutland is very advanced in the field of energy, among other things with innovative solutions for catching, storing and using CO2. It is an outspoken North Jutland ambition to make the green transition a regional growth engine, and we look forward to strengthening this with the new collaboration”, says CEO Glenda Napier from Energy Cluster Denmark.
In the summer of 2020, the cluster established itself, headquartered in Aalborg, precisely to take part in an inspiring and developing energy sector in North Jutland:
“There are very strong and innovative energy companies in North Jutland and some real challenges that need to be solved in the region – for example within CO2 reduction. In the field of energy, a top-class knowledge environment is concentrated on Aalborg University, and this is the optimal framework for innovation. We expect that with close cooperation with Erhvervshus Nordjylland we can secure more innovation projects based on Northern Jutland’s position of strength in the area”, she says.
At Erhvervshus Nordjylland, green transition and innovation are two key areas of action. Therefore. CEO, Lars Erik Jønsson, also sees great prospects in the collaboration with Energy Cluster Denmark:
“We are in a good place in North Jutland, and we have many efforts that contribute to moving business development in North Jutland in a more green and sustainable direction. The Northern Jutland lighthouse effort is an excellent example of this. The fact that we are now engaged in a strong collaboration with Energy Cluster Denmark is a key prerequisite for us to realize even more ambitions for a greener, sustainable and innovative North Jutland”, says Lars Erik Jønsson.
Both Erhvervshus Nordjylland and Energy Cluster Denmark have a high level of ambition to be strong contributors to solve the challenges of North Jutland, including within CO2 reduction. By moving closer together, the ambition is strengthened, but the solution must be found in close cooperation with the Northern Jutland business community.
“It is crucial that North Jutland companies invest even more in green transition and innovation, so that we can also maintain a strong competitiveness in North Jutland in the future. I look forward to our collaboration with Energy Cluster Denmark making it easy and flexible for companies to innovate and become greener, says Lars Erik Jønsson.
Energy Cluster Denmark and Erhvervshus Nordjylland are planning a number of activities and events in North Jutland, which will contribute to strengthening the regional energy cluster.
