BladeShip AS

BladeShip AS is a Norwegian technology company developing ship-based recycling of decommissioned wind turbine blades.

Instead of transporting blades to a fixed plant, the processing line is placed on board a vessel that comes to the blades. The line is designed to handle whole blade sections — including root inserts, bolts and lightning conductors — and to separate metal from the composite while preserving fibre length, so the recovered glass fibre can go back into composite applications rather than being downcycled to filler or cement.

The company is in the concept and verification phase, preparing a line test on real decommissioned blade material. Process figures published so far are calculated, not yet measured.

BladeShip is based in Stavanger, Norway, and is looking for partners across blade owners, decommissioning, composite recycling and maritime engineering.
