Gudenådalens Energiselskab A.m.b.a

Gudenådalens Energiselskab Amba (GUES) is a district heating utility with more than 3,400 connected consumers in the towns of Bjerringbro and Ulstrup.

GUES produces 85% of its heat demand using heat pumps and electric boilers, while the remaining 15% is generated from natural gas through combined heat and power production and gas boilers.

In addition, GUES produces chilled process water for industrial customers and electricity for the high‑voltage grid. The company utilizes surplus heat from treated wastewater, cooling water, and ambient air as heat sources for its heat pumps. GUES also applies seasonal energy storage, transferring energy from summer to winter by means of an ATES system.
