Heliac

Heliac has developed a high-temperature thermal energy storage solution that converts renewable electricity into stable process heat. The energy is stored as heat in stone and oil at temperatures of up to around 300°C with very low heat loss. This makes it possible to store energy for long periods and use it flexibly when needed.

The solution delivers CO₂-free heat for both industry and district heating, reduces dependence on gas, and supports a stable and electrified energy supply based on renewable energy. With installation costs from around DKK 200,000 per MWh of storage capacity and a technical lifetime of at least 25 years, the technology enables competitive and reliable heat production based on renewable energy.
