The deployment marks an important milestone for electrolyser OEM Dynelectro, as the company transitions from factory validation to customer-site operation of its high-temperature SOEC electrolyser technology.

While SOEC technology is known for its industry-leading system efficiency of up to 90% conversion of electricity into hydrogen, Dynelectro’s proprietary AC:DC technology enables dynamic 0–100% load operation within seconds and an unprecedented SOEC stack lifetime of 7–10 years. This removes a key trade-off traditionally faced by project developers between electrolyser flexibility, efficiency, and stack lifetime.

Prior to shipment, the electrolyser successfully completed Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at Eltronic PtX’s assembly site and, during commissioning and validation activities, produced one tonne of hydrogen. The system incorporates SolydEra’s G8X stacks and is designed to support industrial Power-to-X applications, including e-fuels, methanol, ammonia, and sustainable aviation fuel.

“This deployment represents an important step in proving our proprietary SOEC electrolysis solution under real operating conditions,” said Sune Lilbaek, CEO of Dynelectro. “Our objective is to enable the world’s lowest available levelized cost of hydrogen while demonstrating the capabilities of the modular system architecture and execution model required for future MW-scale deployments.”

Dynelectro’s DEU is supported by several European technology and industrial partners. Notably, Eltronic PtX contributed design-for-manufacturing (DFM), assembly, and FAT services, while SolydEra supplied the large G8X solid oxide stacks used in the unit. Syntholene Energy is developing the eSAF demonstration project, which aims to integrate geothermal heat with high-temperature electrolysis for synthetic aviation fuel production.

The deployment is expected to generate valuable operational data to support the future optimization and scale-up of Dynelectro’s Dynamic Electrolyser Unit platform, as well as broader commercial Power-to-X deployments.

Following its arrival in Iceland, the 250 kW Dynamic Electrolyser Unit will enter the commissioning phase, with first operation expected before the end of June 2026.

Today, Green2x marks an important milestone with the inauguration of its pilot plant on the Danish island of Møn. The facility demonstrates how straw can be converted into biomethane at a scale relevant to the existing energy system.

The green transition requires companies capable of building real infrastructure - at industrial scale and with measurable impact.

Green2x is developing a solution that converts straw into cost-competitive biomethane for sectors of the energy system where electrification is not a viable option. With a strong focus on industrial-scale deployment, the company's ambition is to establish a new energy platform that strengthens both energy security and the green transition.

The pilot plant on Møn is a significant step in demonstrating that this is achievable - and an important milestone on the way to our first commercial-scale facility at the Port of Vordingborg," says Mikkel Sjølin Kiil, CEO of Green2x.

The pilot plant on Møn provides the technical and engineering foundation for the company's first planned commercial facility at the Port of Vordingborg. At full capacity, the plant is expected to produce more than 170 million cubic metres of biomethane annually, making it the largest facility of its kind in the world.

The inauguration takes place at a time when energy supply, energy independence and resilient energy systems are playing an increasingly important role in the green transition, both in Denmark and internationally. Green2x's solution addresses these challenges by combining decarbonisation with industrial-scale production and enhanced security of supply.
