CNC Onsite, a Danish specialist in precision machining for the wind energy sector, announced today that Søren Kellenberger, co-owner and Sales Director, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect, succeeding Aage Dam. Aage will remain with the company until the summer holidays to ensure a smooth transition. As the new CEO, Søren will focus on strengthening and expanding the company’s international activities in markets such as Europe and North America. The management change was formally communicated today to all employees at an internal staff meeting.

As part of the transition, the ownership group has also been expanded to include Chairman of the Board Jan Kjærsgaard, who brings many years of experience from the wind industry, including senior roles at leading companies such as GE and Siemens.

The management change is part of a planned generational transition. The first step was taken a year ago when Daniel Schou Jensen joined the management team and simultaneously became part of the ownership group. The company has now reached a point where Aage Dam, at his own request, can step back and exit the company.

CNC Onsite’s core competencies lie within wind energy, including on-site machining and repair of wind turbine components. The company also operates within heavy industries such as refineries, bridges, and maritime infrastructure, providing on-site machining and repair services. CNC Onsite’s headquarters in Vejle, completed in 2023, has strengthened both workshop capacity and technical expertise.

CNC Onsite holds several patents, including for on-site flange milling and for the repair of yaw cranes in the nacelle - methods that reduce downtime and eliminate the need for cranes.

Recent projects include the development and leasing of “Hercules,” a large flange milling machine capable of machining flanges up to 11 meters in diameter, under long-term agreements with companies such as CS WIND Offshore and Welcon. Over the past year, CNC Onsite completed its first blade root repair in collaboration with the Dutch company We4Ce and simultaneously expanded its capacity for repairing yaw cranes in towers across multiple wind turbine types.

Over the past decade, CNC Onsite has increased its gross profit by more than 300 percent and more than doubled its workforce to over 60 employees. In the most recent financial year (FY 2024/25), the company reported a 74 percent year-on-year increase in gross profit to DKK 58.7 million, a 152 percent increase in EBIT, and more than a doubling of net profit after tax.

About Søren Kellenberger

Søren Kellenberger joined CNC Onsite in October 2021 and is a partner and co-owner of the company. He has been appointed CEO while continuing to oversee the company’s global sales activities. Søren holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has more than 20 years of experience in the wind turbine industry, including work at R&D Test Systems with turbine development, testing, and O&M equipment.

CNC Onsite completed a record number of projects during the 12-month reporting period, carrying out complex repairs and precision machining for the wind and industrial sectors across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. The company’s custom-built machines operated continuously with minimal downtime, ensuring high customer efficiency and contributing significantly to the year’s strong results.

The 2024/25 financial results underline this positive development. Gross profit rose to DKK 58.7 million, an increase of 74 percent compared to the same period last year. Profit before tax increased by 152 percent, while net profit more than doubled to DKK 13 million. The workforce grew by approximately 50 percent to 60 employees, supported by targeted recruitment and high retention.

Key operational activities during the period included the development and rental of large flange milling machines for tower and foundation applications under long-term agreements with Welcon and CS WIND Offshore. CNC Onsite also completed its first blade root repair in collaboration with Dutch wind turbine blade designer WeCe and expanded its capacity for yaw ring repairs to cover a broader range of turbine types. Continued investments in portal milling machines, shaft lathes, and specialized boring machines further strengthened the company’s ability to serve the wind sector as well as refineries, the construction industry, and the maritime sector.

Global demand for tower repairs continues to rise, particularly for aging onshore wind turbines and retrofit projects across both onshore and offshore installations, as operators seek to extend asset lifetimes and reduce operating costs.

The headquarters, established in 2023, is now delivering its full benefits and has significantly enhanced both workshop capacity and technical expertise. This investment has enabled CNC Onsite to reduce lead times and expand its portfolio of complex repair solutions.

Sustainability is an integral part of CNC Onsite’s strategy. The company has achieved recertification under ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and follows a repair-rather-than-replace approach that helps reduce CO₂ emissions and supports a sustainable economy.
