Agri Energy South – Pre-feasibility Study for the Energy Solution of the Future

Challenge
The local group behind Agri Energy Syd ApS plans, in collaboration with the advisory company Spiras and the parent company Agri Energy—co-owned by Sauter Danmark and Stiesdal—to establish Denmark’s largest energy park based on biogas and pyrolysis technology.

Solution
The project will provide the knowledge, analyses, and clarifications needed to pave the way toward an investment decision.

These activities are central:

* Establishment of a project organization
* Information to farmers about the concept, potential, risks, and investment opportunity
* Securing 25–40 supplier companies willing to undertake investment during the development phase up to the investment decision
* Assessment of opportunities for supplying surplus heat to Skrydstrup Air Base and nearby towns
* Involvement of the local community
* Agreements on biomass supply
* Environmental impact assessment (EIA/VVM)

Impact
First and foremost, the project will result in a visionary and strongly locally anchored company that contributes to achieving national and local targets under the DK2020 plans and the Climate Act.

Secondly, the energy park will create approximately 50–75 new jobs, with expectations that it will additionally generate at least 60–80 jobs in related industries, such as agriculture and craft/trade businesses.
