AI-Cx – AI-assisted and automated semantic integration of building data for commissioning and building operations

Challenge

Current commissioning of CTS/HVAC systems is manual, time‑consuming, and dependent on complex identification of data points. The EU Building Directive increases the need for efficient building automation, but today’s processes cannot scale without automation.

Solution

To demonstrate the value of semantic ontologies (Brick and RealEstateCore) combined with generative AI to automate and enhance commissioning processes and support monitor‑based building operations.

The partners will develop a Proof‑of‑Concept in which AI automatically maps building data to semantic models (Brick/REC) using documentation and ontology descriptions.

Data will be stored in a triplestore, integrated with SQL, and made accessible via an API and dashboard for use in commissioning and operations. The focus is one ventilation system in two selected buildings.
