About the project
Challenge
When establishing renewable energy sources (RES) such as wind turbines and solar panels, it is crucial that several parameters are in place before the construction phase. This includes calculations of the production capacity at the location where the wind turbine or solar power plant is to be established. Factors such as elevation differences, wind conditions, sunlight hours, historical weather data, and parameters defined by RES legislation come into play.
Currently, there are many manual processes involved in selecting the best sites for RES installations. The same applies to the tools used – there are many of them, and many are time-consuming to use. Financing is also essential for the establishment of RES.
This project aims to optimize these essential elements in the establishment of RES sources.
Solution
The project partners will further develop a basic version of a calculator for energy parks (wind and solar), so that database and AutoCAD integration, as well as backend APIs on GIS map data, can create designs for wind turbines and solar power plants based on a maximum efficiency calculation.
