About the project

Modular battery systems and dedicated components for electric power trains in work vehicles. The purpose of this project is to develop and test a modular platform concept for the flexible construction of battery systems for electric power trains in work vehicles. There will thus be numerous areas of application, including refuse collection and crane vehicles. Economies of scale will be created by delivering competitive battery systems for work vehicles which can be quickly and cost-effectively adapted to numerous areas of application.

Challenge

The purpose of the eWorkVehicle Battery System project is to develop and test a modular platform concept for the flexible construction of battery systems for electric power trains in work vehicles.

Solution idea

Development of platform technology concept for high-efficiency battery charger with varying power output.

Project deliverables

Manufacture of early prototype battery chargers and testing them for use in electric refuse collection vehicles and other work vehicles. Development and testing of a “Smart Grid” device for monitoring and control of charging and discharging of mobile battery systems.

This project is financed by Energy Cluster Denmark’s Industrial Electronics Innovation (IEI) support programme. It offers three years of support to allow small- and medium-sized businesses to collaboratively develop innovative electronic products focused on energy optimisation. The IEI project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
