About the project

Challenge

The purpose of this innovative collaboration is to help the parties further develop digital models of bioreactors used in fermentation processes.

Solution idea

This project develops process models for the biotechnology industry that make it possible to optimise fermentation processes, including their electricity consumption, based on data. This is based on a patented sensor device platform consisting of sensor balls combined with data analysis software.

Project deliverables

  • Development of compartment algorithms
  • Testing of algorithms
  • Iteration on algorithms
  • Implementation of algorithms in customer environment
  • Verification and publication

This project was financed by Energy Cluster Denmark’s Technology, Innovation, Environment, and Energy (TIME, from the Danish initials) support programme. It offers three years of support to allow small- and medium-sized businesses to collaboratively develop innovative electronic products focused on energy optimisation. The TIME project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
