Power2NextTest – Danish Test Centre for CCUS
Challenge:
A prerequisite for especially small and medium-sized enterprises as subcontractors to develop equipment and components for CCUS, and thus create new jobs and exports, is access to the right test facilities both in the development and approval phase. The project specifically addresses this barrier before a market can be developed.
Solution:
The aim of the project is to establish a test facility that can validate components with liquid CO2, dissolved impurities, high pressure (HP) and high temperature (HT). Qualification of material for CCUS applications, as well as built facilities to measure harmful gases and impurities, is a necessary contribution to the development of material solutions and ensuring Denmark’s continued leadership in CCUS and the green transition.
Impact:
In 2022 alone, the Government has allocated DKK 16 billion to develop the market for CO2 capture. The CCUS sector is expected to grow worldwide from USD 1.6 billion this year to USD 3.5 billion in 2025.
For FORCE Technology, the turnover within CCUS in 2024 is estimated to be a total of 10 million DKK (commercial and R&D), supported by the testing capacity of this project.
