About the project
Challenge
European Union's commitment to achieving a sustainable and resilient energy system is underpinned by the Critical Raw Materials Act and the Net-Zero Industry Act. These two legislative frameworks align closely with the objectives of the RENEW-BOOSTER project, reinforcing Europe's energy sovereignty and supporting the green transition.
EU has defined the following two main challenges that need to be solved for twin transition of Europe: Access to critical materials and Production and adoption of “Net-Zero” technologies.
Solution
The RENEW-BOOSTER project aims at driving innovation and industrialization in three critical sectors that are vital for Europe’s green transition and energy security: Photovoltaics (PV), Offshore Wind Energy, and the associated Energy
Networks.
At the core of RENEW-BOOSTER is the Accelerator, providing tailored support for SMEs to identify opportunities and develop solutions, strengthening their role in the renewable energy value chain and enhancing resilience. SME support is provided through training, business process innovation, and access to EU networks like the Enterprise Europe Network and eDIHs.
Effect
The project aims to trigger change and innovation, though the specific results will rely on SMEs applications through the cascade funding mechanism. Changes and innovation are expected through:
- Technological innovation: Development of cutting-edge renewable energy technologies, such as advanced PV systems, offshore wind components, and smart grids.
- Process innovation: Adoption of digital tools and sustainable practices, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs across the value chain.
- Policy and market transformation: Strengthening Europe’s position as a global leader in renewables by aligning technological advancements with regulatory frameworks like the Critical Raw Materials Act.
