Companies and researchers who want to develop and demonstrate innovative green energy projects can apply for funding through the Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program.

The Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program (EUDP) invites applicants who wish to develop and demonstrate innovative energy projects.

Call for applicants from small and medium-sized enterprises and knowledge institutions.

Focus: The project focuses on cleantech value chains within industry and transport, where the project must focus on achieving net-zero emissions through either:

1. Linking sectors and utilising surplus energy
2. Optimisation of technologies in production and the use of zero-emission energy sources
3. Development and optimisation of CCU and energy storage technologies

The project must focus on one of the three areas mentioned above, and it may also focus on making cleantech solutions more market-ready by developing the necessary infrastructure. The project is expected to start at TRL 6.

Focus: Energy-intensive industries, where the project must focus on one of the following:

1. Development or optimisation of CCU and/or CCUS technologies
2. Transition in production to green energy sources through, for example, electrification
3. Higher resource efficiency and more circular value chains

The project may focus either on reducing emission levels from existing production methods or on developing new green products. The focus is on projects with a starting TRL of 6.

This topic focuses on decarbonising industry by upgrading waste heat to higher‑quality process heat.

Focus: Innovation in high-temperature heat pumps for industrial processes.

Focus: Development of advanced digital twins and AI-based control systems for buildings. Objective: To optimise energy consumption in real time and improve the interaction between the building and the electricity grid (demand response).

Focus areas:

Technical solutions: Optimisation of radiators, piping, and integration with smart energy systems without necessarily requiring a full renovation of the building envelope first.
Resident engagement: Addressing the legal and social barriers associated with collective decision-making in homeowner and housing cooperatives.
Business models: Innovative financing solutions that make the transition economically feasible for landlords and residents.
