Consisting of five faculties, the university offers first class education and research within the fields of natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, technical and health sciences.

More than 20,000 students are enrolled at the university, which employs more than 3,500 staff members across the university’s three campuses in Aalborg, Esbjerg and Copenhagen.
The identity of the university is gathered in three core activities: Education, research and knowledge collaboration – areas that are based on a problem and project-based approach, also known as the Aalborg model.
AAU has a broad range of activities relating to offshore energy in both Aalborg and Esbjerg.
