The Municipality of Esbjerg is the fifth-largest in Denmark with approx. 115.000 inhabitants. It covers an area of 75,543 hectares or 755 square kilometers.
Esbjerg is the Energy Capital of Denmark, and member of the World Energy Cities Partnership, WECP
Under the name, EnergyMetropolis – The Municipality of Esbjerg intends to expand the unique position within energy and energy technology. In 2015 the Municipality of Esbjerg is Denmark’s center for energy technology based on a strong business cluster and a strong education and research environment.
