EMOvision – A New Platform for Energy Label Data

In Denmark, approximately 1.7 million buildings fall under the energy labeling scheme, which provides an overview of a building’s energy consumption and highlights areas where energy optimization can yield economic and environmental savings.
Nationwide, 543,000 buildings have a valid energy label, of which 125,000 are rated E, F, or G – the least favorable categories on the energy labeling scale.
The need to optimize our buildings’ energy efficiency has never been more pressing. The key to achieving a clear overview lies in energy label data.
Boligdok has developed the EMOVision platform to make energy label data easily accessible to stakeholders interested in energy optimization. The platform consolidates all energy labels in Denmark, combines them with data from the Building and Housing Registry (BBR) and the Land Register, and makes the data searchable through various filters.
This means that users can specifically search for buildings with poor energy classifications and explore specific renovation proposals such as replacing the heat source, improving insulation, implementing solar panels, upgrading windows, and other beneficial measures. Additionally, users can filter by annual savings for each renovation proposal, enabling the identification of buildings with the highest economic potential.
The platform provides valuable insights into energy optimization potential and will serve as a valuable tool for stakeholders working in energy optimization or organizations seeking comprehensive data.
Ready for Testing
The EMOVision platform is now at a stage where it’s ready to be tested by energy sector experts.
We aim to create a platform that is both user-friendly and functional. Therefore, we invite all interested members of Energy Cluster to contact us for more information and potentially join the test panel. Due to limited capacity, we will select participants based on relevance in case of high interest.
Examples of data available in EMOVision:
- In the Region of Southern Denmark, nearly 17,000 properties are rated F or G, 17% of which are company-owned buildings.
- In Roskilde Municipality, 916 energy labels were issued in 2023.
- In Denmark, 60,000 energy-labeled buildings could save over DKK 15,000 annually by installing solar panels or replacing their current heat source with a heat pump.
