About the project

Challenge

In many markets within the wind sector, local companies will need external expertise in order to be considered for contracts. This creates a strong foundation for Danish companies, provided they are brought together with relevant and interested local businesses in a structured process that fosters trust, shared understanding, and learning.

Solution

The partners in the cluster project Inn2Power have worked together to strengthen the innovation capacity and competencies of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the offshore wind industry in the countries surrounding the North Sea. The innovation project is international, consisting of 45 partners, including 11 cluster partners from Denmark, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Result

The main outcome of the project was the development and accreditation of the world’s first and only MBA program for the offshore wind sector. The Offshore Wind Energy MBA program, established and developed by Business Academy SouthWest, Energy Cluster Denmark, and Hochschule Bremerhaven, was created to ensure a competency-based academic leadership education targeted at leaders in the wind industry. The accreditation agency AQAS has recognized the program with an international accreditation.

From day one, the MBA has benefited from close collaboration with internationally recognized companies in the offshore wind industry, such as Ørsted, Vattenfall, RWE, Siemens Gamesa, Energi Danmark, Tennet, and Rambøll, among others. These companies participate in the program’s Advisory Board, contribute to the development of modules, provide students for the course, and supply relevant teaching materials in the form of case studies.
