About the project

Challenge

If safety standards are not tested and in place as the PtX industry accelerates, it is estimated that the planned CO2 reductions from PtX will be delayed by at least 3-5 years. Therefore, reducing safety and approval uncertainties will enable faster investment decisions and shorter time-to-market for PtX production facilities.

Safer and Faster PtX is an infrastructure project aimed at supporting the development of equipment manufacturers and plant owners by reducing uncertainties related to safety and approval processes.

Project Solution

The goal of the project is to support the development of recommended safety requirements for PtX implementation in Denmark. Safety requirements and standards are fundamental prerequisites for a rapid path toward PtX implementation.

Risk identification and mitigation through the development of transparent and quickly implementable PtX safety guidelines are essential tools for enabling the scaling and integration of technologies, ensuring both safety and public acceptance. The project applies to PtX facilities, suppliers, and local communities.

Project Impact

  • A safety forum will be established, holding 4 meetings per year.
  • Guidelines for safer PtX will be developed and implemented.
  • Broad dissemination of guidelines and experiences from the PtX forum will be shared.
