About the project
Challenge
The energy and utility sector continues to face complex challenges in the green transition, including the integration of additional renewable energy, reduction of CO₂ emissions, and ensuring security of supply.
These challenges are further intensified by a fragmented approach to data and digitalization, where companies often lack access to structured and usable data, as well as the technological tools and competencies required to fully leverage data.
Solution
Digital Energy Hub 2.0 is an innovation hub that brings together Danish businesses, utility companies, and researchers to promote digitalization and innovation in the energy and utility sector. Through initiatives such as innovation sprints, networking and matchmaking activities, and easier access to data and tools, the hub provides the foundation for data-driven development of digital energy technologies that strengthen the Danish energy system and accelerate the green transition.
Impact
The project will establish an ecosystem of 100+ companies, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration at the intersection of digitalization and energy. The hub’s innovation programs will result in the development of 15 concrete energy technology solutions or expert recommendations, as well as increased digital competence among companies. In the long term, the project contributes to reduced CO₂ emissions, integration of renewable energy sources, and a more robust, sustainable energy sector.
