About the project
Challenge
In the manufacture of industrial electronics, achieving a competitive price and quality are crucial in order to ensure that testing and documentation of components and systems can be performed efficiently, as ongoing production tests. Tests can be performed manually, semi-automatically or fully automated.
Solution idea
The purpose of the ElectronicTester project is to develop and test a modular platform concept used for semi-automated and flexible, ongoing production testing and traceability documentation for industrial electronics. Based on the experience from customer-specific testing solutions, ElectronicTester will be built as a price-competitive system concept. Through the integration of standardized sub-modules, it will offer the opportunity to quickly deliver a testing solution that meets the customer’s needs. Its composition will support flexible adaptation for testing of various components and systems.
Project deliverables
The innovation effort in the ElectronicTester project is focused on the following four solutions:
- A modular and flexible concept design: Development of an overall system design which permits rapid assembly of customer-specific testing systems, with relatively simple adaptation to other test subjects
- Standardised sub-modules for testing industrial electronics: Development and testing of sub-modules aimed in particular at circuit testing, visual checks, and function testing of screens and push buttons
- Subject management and traceability documentation: Development and testing of fixtures for flexible handling of test items, and solutions for engraving and other forms of documentation of test items for traceability
- Final design and barriers to market scaling: Final industrial production design, possible patent application, CE marking, production of documentation materials, clarification of market barriers
This project is financed by Energy Cluster Denmark’s Industrial Electronics Innovation (IEI) support programme. It offers three years of support to allow small- and medium-sized businesses to collaboratively develop innovative electronic products focused on energy optimisation. The IEI project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
