About the project
Integrated and modular platform concept for security sensor system for mobile robots. The purpose is to develop and test an integrated and modular platform concept for a technically and cost-competitive safety sensor system that covers the needs for safe and efficient operation of autonomous robots in demanding outdoor environments, so that applicable safety regulations for fully autonomous robots are complied with. The solution must be integrated into and tested as part of the development of a new version of a large autonomous lawnmower robot.
Challenge
- Detailed state-of-the-art analysis for market-leading sensor technology and specification of customer needs
- Prepare concept design / system architecture for early prototype
- Development of safety sensor system based on analysis of concept design as well as learning from iterations operational trials
- Development of position recognition system based on analysis of concept design
- Prepare prototypes and conduct prototype tests, as well as designs and specifications based thereon
- Approvals for developed solutions
Solution idea
Development of safety sensor system based on analysis of concept design as well as learning from previous iteration operational testing. As well as iterative development of position recognition system based on analysis of concept design as well as learning from previous iteration operational testing.
Project deliverables
Within the segment with grass care on large areas and special machines for outdoor surface drying / road marking, which are relatively challenging use situations for outdoor autonomous robots, operational prototype testing is carried out in collaboration with selected test users. Final concept design for integrated safety sensor system and solution for position recognition is developed.
This project is financed by Energy Cluster Denmark’s Industrial Electronics Innovation (IEI) support programme. It offers three years of support to allow small- and medium-sized businesses to collaboratively develop innovative electronic products focused on energy optimisation. The IEI project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
