About the project

INNO-CCUS – Carbon Capture, Storage, and Utilization

The EU funds four green, mission-driven research and innovation partnerships that unite the country’s top researchers, businesses, and organizations to position Denmark as a leader in sustainability. These partnerships focus on carbon capture and utilization (CCUS), Power-to-X, climate- and environmentally-friendly agriculture and food production, and circular economy initiatives targeting plastics and textiles.

The INNO-CCUS Partnership

The INNO-CCUS partnership works to help Denmark achieve its climate goals by ensuring effective carbon capture and storage while developing methods to recycle CO2 as a building block for new materials. Supported by the Innovation Fund Denmark, the partnership comprises more than 80 partners from research institutions, GTS institutes, private companies, and public organizations. Energy Cluster Denmark provides support by facilitating innovation projects, partnerships, communication, and fundraising.

Innovation Projects

The partnership is engaged in over 30 innovation projects addressing key challenges within five CCUS focus areas: chemical carbon capture, biological carbon capture and storage, geological carbon storage, CO2 utilization, and societal and system analysis.
